Profile

Mr. Dahir Abdi Ali is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Economics at SIMAD University & Director of the Somali Statistical Association (SSA). He studied M.Sc. In Applied Statistics at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and B.Sc. in Applied Statistics at Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU). He is actively involved in different stages of data collection surveys, data management, and data analysis and reporting. He also led training sessions related to mobile data collection using Kobo Collect or ODK, Data management, and data analysis using different statistical packages including (but not limited to) Excel, XLSTAT, SPSS, STATA, MINITAB, EPI-INFO, Power BI, Nvivo, and R programming. Moreover, he conducted several academic research projects whose findings were published in Scopus-indexed international journals.
