Seadya Mohammed Ahmed is a passionate economist, researcher, and educator with over five years of experience in collecting and analyzing economic and financial data, as well as in academic instruction. She is driven by a vision to harness the latest insights from behavioral science and economics research to challenge the status quo, empower communities, and foster inclusive and sustainable development.
Seadya currently serves as a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, SIMAD University. She holds a Master of Arts in Economic Policy Management from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Economics and Finance from Kenyatta University. Her academic background and practical experience converge in her commitment to shaping economic thought and policy in Somalia and beyond.
Seadya’s research interests are interdisciplinary and policy-relevant, with a particular focus on:
- Behavioral Economics
- Development Economics
- Environmental Economics
At SIMAD University, Seadya is actively involved in undergraduate instruction, with a strong focus on courses within the Bachelor of International Trade and Investment program. Her teaching portfolio includes the following courses:
